GetCommunity – It’s a Groupie Kinda Love

Good morning and I hope that your week has been STELLAR so far! This month’s tips are all about LinkedIn and how to maximize your visibility and social reach, all in the name of generating leads and creating new business opportunities. We’ve talked about Linking In with your contacts and Rising to the Top of LinkedIn’s powerful search feature. Today, it’s all about being a Groupie. Joining and participating in groups is a greatly underutilized area of LinkedIn, which is a HUGE opportunity for you to get noticed.

Today’s Tip: Search for the types of Groups your potential clients might be hanging out in an JOIN them (use the search feature on LinkedIn, I typed in ‘new home marketing’ and came up with 62 results).

Once you’ve been accepted, peruse through the Discussions and provide your 2 cents on the matter. Responding to someone is the first step in creating that relationship. When you click on that discussion, you’ll see that you can Comment, Like, Flag, Follow, and see the one that says More? Click on that and you’ll see that you can respond privately to that person, whether you’re Linked or not.

If you have more info to share in an effort to answer their question, but don’t want the whole group to see, then send off a Private Message. Just remember, don’t SPAM or SELL the person, simply provide them with honest feedback and BE YOURSELF. Sales pitches get deleted!

At least once a week, spend 20 minutes perusing your new Group Discussions and jump in the conversation on one or two. You’re guaranteed to form new connections that will lead to more business for you. If not from them, from someone they refer you to.

So, that’s it for today. Get your Groupie on this week!

Be sure to follow Community on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. We’d also love a referral, let your friends know about GetCommunty and our weekly social media to-do’s.

Cheers!
