Summer Social Media Internship at Get Community

Summer vibes are heating up, and so is our need for fresh, creative energy on the GC team! ☀️ Are you a college junior or senior who lives and breathes TikTok trends, knows your way around an Instagram Reel, and has an eye for what’s poppin’ on the feed? If you’re looking to spend your summer gaining hands-on experience in the digital marketing world, keep reading—we’ve got a spot just for you with our Social Media Internship.

We’re on the hunt for a Social Media Intern to support our Social Media team from July through September. This is a paid, part-time role (15–20 hours/week) designed to give you real-world agency experience, all while working alongside a team that’s passionate, collaborative, and totally plugged into what’s trending online.

In this support role, you will learn how content is created and implemented across several accounts. You will coordinate across multiple departments and may be responsible for client content hitting the social feeds. Being up-to-date with the latest social media trends is a MUST!

Get Community is a full-service digital agency based in Orange, California, that serves the home building industry.

Social Media Internship Responsibilities might include:

  • Engaging on our client social media channels, liking relevant content, following relevant people and pages, and reposting content that matters to our audiences.
  • Tracking engagement to keep our social media team in the loop of what’s happening online.
  • Communicating with followers and responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Managing content on our publishing platform, making sure revisions are made, routing content for approvals, getting content tagged, scheduled, and published.
  • Posting client-approved content directly to certain channels, adding captions, on-screen text, and SEO text to optimize the performance of content.
  • Collaborating with other teams, like marketing, creative, video, media, and clients, to ensure brand consistency.
  • Understanding when trends are going viral, and communicating that to Social Media Managers to create content for clients when trends are trending.
  • Creating YouTube thumbnails and SEO descriptions.
  • Updating SmartBios across our clients' social media.
  • Adding pins to Pinterest and making sure boards are relevant and up-to-date.
